Teaching Assistantships
Human Development teaching assistantships involve assisting one or two faculty members in teaching undergraduate Human Development courses on campus or online. These assistantships come with a full in-state tuition waiver, health insurance, and monthly stipend, but do not cover student fees.
A number of half-time teaching assistantships through Human Development are reserved for students in the Prevention Science Ph.D. program on the Pullman and Vancouver campuses, available to students whose doctoral advisor is a Human Development faculty member. For students whose research mentors are faculty in Communication, Education, or Nursing, teaching assistantships may be available at your campus or through your home department. Contact the graduate coordinator in your department to inquire about the availability of funds.
International students must pass an English exam before they are eligible for a teaching assistantship or fellowship.
Teaching Fellowships
Once Human Development teaching assistants in Pullman have defended their master’s thesis, they may apply for a half-time teaching fellowship as an instructor for a Human Development undergraduate class. Fellows are responsible for teaching one or two classes per semester during the academic year and will receive an in-state tuition waiver, health insurance, and monthly stipend. Fellowships may be available at other campuses or in other departments as well. Contact the graduate coordinator in your department for information.
