Community Prevention Wellness Initiative (CPWI) Evaluation

Evaluation Summary

Dr. Brittany Cooper and Dr. Gitanjali Shrestha are PIs on a state project to examine the implementation and effectiveness of CPWI. Washington State Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) initiated CPWI in 2011 to reduce underage substance use among adolescents. CPWI is a strategic, data-informed, community coalition model aimed at preventing youth alcohol and drug use by targeting prevention efforts in the highest risk communities throughout the state. CPWI utilizes a comprehensive, multicomponent, and multilevel framework to reduce risk factors in individual, peer, family, school and community domains.
