Pathways to a Degree

Students can pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development at campuses in Pullman and Vancouver, and online through Washington State University’s Global Campus. While all human development programs share a core curriculum, there are a few differences in the three programs besides just their location. Students on all three campuses can major or minor in human development, or receive an interdisciplinary minor in aging. All can follow the gerontology certificate program. Finally, all human development students complete an internship or practicum. Below we briefly describe differences between campuses, and in the chart we show offerings for all three locations.

Pullman

Pullman students can follow certificate programs in Early Childhood Education, Adolescence, Gerontology, or Family Studies. Pullman students also have the option of pursuing a teaching certificate in Family and Consumer Sciences. The Pullman campus, located in rural Eastern Washington, has about 16,000 students. Twenty-eight percent are minority students, 6% are international students, and 96% are full-time students. Request information or schedule a visit to the Pullman campus.

Vancouver

Vancouver students can follow certificate programs in Early Childhood Education, Gerontology, and Human Services Case Management and Administration. The Vancouver campus, in Southwest Washington is very close to Portland, Oregon, and has about 2,700 students. Twenty-two percent are minority students, 1% are international students, and 77% are full-time students. Request information or schedule a visit to the Vancouver campus.
