Parent Involvement
Parents are considered by the center staff as the most important people in children's lives; thus, parents are invited to participate in the center program in a variety of ways.
- Observing the children from the observation booth and visiting the classroom are delightful opportunities to see how your own child and other children interact and learn.
- Parents are also provided with weekly letters from teachers. Daily plans are posted at the beginning of each session. Informal daily contacts are possible when parents come in to pick up/drop off their children.
- Parents are invited to participate in field trips and special events or projects held throughout the year.
- Additionally, conferences held twice a year will also provide a way for you to get to know the staff on a more individual basis.
- At least once each semester, meetings are held with parents a supportive forum to discuss child-related issues.
- Sharing family and cultural traditions is encouraged and welcomed.
- Parents may select whatever level of involvement they choose and are free to ask at any time for assistance, information, or the opportunity to become more involved.
Visitors may observe the preschool programs at any time by using the observation booth provided for that purpose. Visitors in the preschool room, other than parents and other relatives of the children, are permitted; however, prior arrangements must be made with the Director or Supervising Teacher.
